Natural limestone paving is a good alternative to sandstone as it has a subtle colour palette with buttermilk shades of yellow and pale grey with occasional ochre tones. It works well in traditional styled gardens, especially where a cotswold colour range is desirable. It's warm, creamy colour makes you crave scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream all wrapped up with a big pot of tea! Its texture is fairly flat, but with an orange peel pitted surface, so it's ideal in seating areas where a truly riven surface such as that seen in sandstone, would cause table and chair legs to wobble on the uneven surface.
